MOTHER'S DAY OFFERING: For more than 46 years, North GA congregations have received the Mother’s Day Offering for Wesley Woods supporting the needs of residents. Your church may collect the offering on May 9th or another Sunday that works best.

Simplified Accountable Structure for Church Governance
Now is the time to begin discerning whether a change in governing structure is right for your congregation in order to be prepared for transition in January of 2022.

Certified coaches in the South East District are available to consult with clergy and laity to help you with this process or to lead annual Strategic Planning retreats for congregations that already use the simplified structure.

Annual Conference, 2021 All Annual Conference delegates are reminded of the timeline of events for the upcoming virtual Annual Conference. Delegates should make plans now to attend the Pre-Conference Briefing and register their attendance online.

June 4 - Online Annual Conference Session
June 5 - Live Streamed Ordination Service, Live Streamed Memorial Service

Pastors, please make sure your church’s delegate information is complete and correct on the Lay Leadership Report in Data Services (Charge Conference Reports). Any updates should be made before May 16. An email address is required for every delegate.

Grant Opportunities

Restart Grant ($250)

This grant is for churches that are previous recipients of an FX microgrant in order to restart their FX that was paused and ended due to COVID. Deadline to apply is May 31.

Microgrant ($500)

This grant is for new FX initiatives. Recipients must have a team that includes at least one more person and is attached to a customized learning plan and 6 months of coaching with an FX Lead Cultivator  Deadline to apply is May 31.

Dinner Church Start-Up Grant 

Existing Dinner Churches may be granted $1000                           
New Dinner Churches may be granted $2500

Recipients must have identified a team of at least 10 and have attended a Dinner Church Encounter, Espresiones Divinas (May 15), or be enrolled in the Dinner Church Training Academy (begins April 19-May 17). Deadline to apply is May 19.

Grants recipients will be notified on May 25. A coach will be assigned for a 6 month period.

District Calendar
Clergy are strongly encouraged to check their email addresses directly through Gmail. However, some clergy prefer to forward their address to another account. Pastors who moved July 1 and forward their email should be sure to update the forwarding account. Access to your email is important for receiving district and conference communication as well as virtual Annual Conference credentials.
