SCNA Website and Newsletter Updates
SCNA is kicking off 2017 with a fresh new looking website that is designed to be more user friendly for all kinds of electronic devices. Based on feedback from our Steering Committee listening sessions we heard the older website designed with the help of students of Rev Academy, launched in 2014, has a lot of information but simply needed an update. We’ve simplified it and given it a fresh new look. Residents can find out who SCNA is, what it does, and how they can get involved right from the homepage. We also have homeowner resource links, program information, and history of our organization and the area also on our website.
Along with this important website update, SCNA will for the first time be going to a bimonthly publication of our Community Connections newsletter in 2017. Six times rather than twelve times this year along with some special mailings, SCNA will be printing and delivering the Community Connections newsletter. If residents prefer to have an emailed copy rather than a printed copy mailed to them they can sign up for our e-newsletter at our website at Our archived monthly printed newsletters are also available online under the What? Tab.

Metro Transit Update at Jan 10 SCNA neighborhood meeting!
The Shingle Creek Neighborhood Association works hard to keep residents informed about changes, improvements, pending city decisions and information that may effect residents at the neighborhood level. We've invited Metro Transit representatives back to our January Neighborhood meeting to give us updates on the Brooklyn Boulevard improvements and bus stops along the corridor that are being planned for 2017 and future.

A developer for a property in the neighborhood will also be giving a short presentation. Come and hear from him about his proposal to improve a property and his company. All our SCNA meetings are free! Light refreshments will be served! Feel free to attend to learn more! If you'd like to learn more about a particular topic or us!

Did you know that 1/4 of people over the age of 65 fall each year?
Part of the reason for this is your physical environment – your home. Senior Community Services’ HOME Program can help reduce your fall risks and allow you to remain independent in your own home for longer by doing a free Home Health & Safety Assessment. At the end of the assessment, you will receive a report detailing practical steps you can take to reduce fall risks and make your home safer. Our handypersons are available to work with you to make any desired repairs and safety improvements.
For more information on our HOME program or to schedule a FREE Home Health & Safety Assessment call 952-746-4046 or visit
