Dear IALF Family and Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that we share with you the sad news that our dear friend and colleague, Debi Thurow, passed away Monday, April 12, after a long and courageous battle against cancer. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Debi’s family, who were by her side in her last moments, and provided constant support during her private journey these past several years.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 19, at Maple Avenue Christian Church in Macomb. Burial will be in the Bethel Cemetery south of Fandon. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday April 18, 2021 at the Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb. More details on the services, and Debi's numerous accomplishments, can be found in her obituary.
All who knew Debi enjoyed her kindness and always present smile. More importantly, she was a mother, grandmother, wife, and friend we all loved dearly. She was also a dedicated member of the IALF team and her contributions to the Foundation cannot be adequately measured.
To honor Debi, and her legacy of generosity and kindness, the IALF has established the Debi Thurow Memorial Scholarship Fund for Participant Special Needs. The goal of the fund is to provide assistance to IALP participants requiring additional financial support due to extenuating circumstances while completing the program. IALF founding President and CEO, Joyce Watson along her husband Alan, are pleased to provide a lead gift to the fund with the hope it will encourage other members of the IALF family to honor Debi’s commitment to the organization.
