Dear <<First Name>>
Here's the latest information for music leaders in our parish

Returning to Mass

Thank you to everyone for your leadership and support as we have returned to Mass under COVID-19 restrictions.  For parishioners to be able to participate in Mass as 'normally' as possible (including music) on their return has no doubt helped them to feel welcome at Wenty once again.

Advent

The season of Advent is upon us again.  It is a time of joyful expectation: both for the celebration of Christmas, and for the return of Christ at the end of time.

Arrangements for Advent

Liturgical arrangements for Advent will once again centre around the Introductory Rites.  The Mass each Sunday will open as follows:
  • Entrance Hymn
  • Sign of the Cross and Greeting
  • Introduction by the Priest
  • Lighting of the candles of the Advent wreath (instrumental music may be played as the candles are lit; we will not use Advent Litany this year)
  • Penitential Act (2nd form, spoken)
  • Kyrie (may be said or sung)
  • Collect Prayer
From the First Sunday of Advent, we move into Year C of the cycle of Sunday readings.

Christmas

The Christmas liturgical celebrations will be different this year, with at least some COVID-19 restrictions still expected to be in place.  The current roadmap of eased restrictions indicates that choirs will be allowed at Christmas, with the number of music ministers limited only by the 1 per 2 square metre rule.

As Christmas falls on a Saturday this year, the following day (Sunday) will be observed as the Feast of the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.  The Mass schedule for the weekend will be released soon, but will follow this structure:
  • Friday 24 December (evening): Christmas Vigil and Night Masses
  • Saturday 25 December: Christmas Day Masses
  • Sunday 26 December: Sunday Masses (Feast of the Holy Family)

PowerPoint Slides and Templates Catalogues

There appears to be a security issue concerning access to our slide and template catalogues online, which will require us to temporarily restrict access while we resolve the issue.  If you are unable to access slides or template that you need in the meantime, please email Robert and ask for what you need to be emailed to you.
Thank you for your continued support and commitment to your ministry.
Please contact Robert if you have any questions or need assistance.
