Dear <<First Name>>
Here's the latest information for music leaders in our parish

Dedication of the altar

With the construction work for our Church Renewal Process well underway, we look forward to the Mass where the new altar will be dedicated.  This is a significant occasion in the life of any parish, and likely to only be experienced once in a lifetime.  We therefore invite and encourage all parish music ministers to join together to support the assembly in its prayer at this special time.
There will be two essential whole group rehersals for the Dedication Mass

Saturday 9 December and Saturday 16 December
3:30 - 5:00 pm

Begin preparing for the Dedication now

Visit the Dedication Mass music resources page for access to practice materials.  If all singers begin preparing at home, and in their own music group rehearsals, then people will be well-prepared once whole group rehearsals begin.

Please note that there will not be any music at 9:00 am Mass on this day.

Music suggestions

Music suggestions for Advent Year B have been updated on the Music Ministry website.  The quick pick guide also serves as a handy reference for choosing appropriate music for each Sunday from our core parish repertoire.

Thank you to the music groups that are ensuring that their Entrance, Communion and Thanksgiving (if sung) Hymns are all chosen from our Core Parish Repertoire.  This simple act of liturgical hospitality helps the assembly pray and is an important component of us supporting our parish vision.

Our music suggestions are there to help you.  All the hymns in the quick pick guides are from our core repertoire to make music choices easy.

PowerPoint slides and copyright

All parishes have a moral and legal obligation to observe Australia's copyright laws.  If copyright law is breached, both the parish and the individual musician are liable to prosecution.  To protect you and our parish, we ask that all music groups observe the following:
  • Music used at Mass must be sourced from the Catalogue of PowerPoint Slides
  • Music groups must complete a list of music used at that Mass, which is then placed in the red folder on the sacristy notice board after the Mass so the parish office can report hymn usage
Music groups that would like to use a hymn that is not in the catalogue must email Robert at litcomwenty@gmail.com and ask for it to be added.  It is at this point that it will be checked that the hymn is covered by our licence before proceeding.
Remember, if you have any questions or feedback, please contact Robert

Thank you for your continued support and liturgical leadership in our parish
