Why should you support Orchestra 2001 on this Giving Tuesday?
In 2019, our first year as ensemble-in-residence at Philadelphia's Cherry Street Pier, Orchestra 2001 shared virtuoso contemporary classical performances with thousands of people. Every concert was free and open to the public, to foster a diverse and engaged new music audience here in Philadelphia. Who could forget the breathtaking beauty of our June concerts, ON THE WATERFRONT(pictured above) and ALONG THE DELAWARE?
Orchestra 2001 was the very first ensemble to tackle the challenge of putting on a full orchestral concert in this revitalized industrial pier. The William Penn Foundation, The Barra Foundation, and many other organizations, both public and private, have placed their trust in Orchestra 2001 to ensure it can continue to operate. But individual fundraising helps us create these unforgettable moments, and share them free of charge. This is your chance to help someone else stumble upon the adventure of classical music.
