Have Pianist, Will Travel

This has been the year of piano quintets - this season, we will perform quintets of Brahms, Dvorak, Dohnanyi and Saint-Saens for audiences from Alabama to Mexico.   One of our most frequent partners is our dear friend, Dr. William Ransom. Will is the head of the piano department at Emory University as well as the founder and artistic director of the Emory Chamber Music Society of Atlanta. He was the the guiding force behind our move to Atlanta in 2006, and designed our Emory residency with the goal to integrate us with all aspects of the university community.  For his visionary work, Will was recently named one of Musical America's Professionals of the Year, an annual compilation of leaders in artistic innovation both within their communities and across the nation.      We look forward to diving into these fantastic quintets, and hope to see you at an upcoming performance!

On February 5th, 2017, Emory University welcomed its twentieth president, Claire E. Sterk. We were honored to add our own touch to the celebration, performing the final movement of Beethoven's Quartet in C, Op. 59 No. 3 at the inauguration ceremony.
Even before the inauguration ceremony, we joined the wider Emory community in greeting our new president though participation in a video .  We participated in a video where we described President Sterk in three words.  Our choice? "Collaborate in Harmony." To watch the complete video, please click here.
