"Whoever would overthrow the liberty of a nation, must begin by subduing the freedom of speech" - Benjamin Franklin

There is an old folk tale about the sorcerer who leaves his apprentice in charge of the magical cave. The apprentice, being lazy, turns to a sinister force to do his work for him and finds that the buckets and brooms of the sinister force cannot be controlled, once having been unleashed.

This story has become an allegory for our time. The Founding Fathers bequeathed to us the responsibility for the care and continuance of our Republic. In our laziness, we turned over our authority to a dangerous government that we can no longer control.

During WWII, a German pastor confessed that he did not speak out when the Nazis came for the communists, the socialists, the trade unionists, and the Jews, because he was none of those things. And when they came for him, there was no one left to speak out for him. For too long, that has been the hindrance to a coordinated effort on the part of Patriots to speak out against our increasingly tyrannical government. We have been fragmented by our own interests and ignore the concerns of others.

Now, we are beginning to realize that the interests of any of us are the interests of all of us because we are all in opposition to the sinister force. We are all fighting the same war, but in different battles, and the war is never over until all the battles are won. One group cannot leave the struggle just because their particular interest has been resolved. We are not seeking the resolution of concerns, but the defeat of the sinister force.

The great hope for those of us who have been involved in the struggle for years is that many new and young people are joining the effort to carry forward the flag of Liberty. We are gratified to see the variety of interests and groups who are willing to be involved, and we want to work to keep them as part of the team. We also are aware that the effort is not of short duration. The American Revolution lasted for decades before we obtained our independence from Britain and formed a strong Constitutional government. Many of us who are now involved will not finish the race, and it is our duty to train and educate our replacements.

It is of vital importance that everyone involved in the new war for Liberty know the details of our history and of our ongoing vigilance to be a sovereign people. It is mandatory that all citizens learn of the dangers and examples of socialism and communism throughout the world, and to contrast these systems to the legacy of the United States’ founding documents, including the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. We have long realized that you cannot fight for and defend your rights if you do not know what they are.

We do not seek revenge, retribution, or revolution. We seek only restoration: of our rights, our Liberty, and our Republic. The struggle is not over when a new candidate is elected, a bad bill is defeated, the mask mandates are lifted and the county opens up. Our Founding Fathers have warned us that the price of freedom is eternal vigilance, and we have been derelict in our duty to be vigilant. The Sinister Force is in charge of the magical cave, and it is up to us to take back our authority and to keep it for ourselves and our posterity.
