Casting technology is always improving, but castings will always exhibit porosity. PG IMTECH has impregnation methods that properly seal and prevent leaks caused by porosity within castings.
 
Advanced die casting techniques can now reduce pore sizes all the way down to what is known as nanoporosity. Although they may have smaller pores, these parts are still "leakers". These micro pores require greater attention to sealing, because the smaller the pores, the more difficult they are to seal. Most standard impregnating processes will fail to eliminate nanoporosity.
 
PG IMTECH has found that nanoporosity/micro pores are best sealed utilizing the vacuum resin impregnation process that removes the air/oxygen from the part and then fills the pores with PG Imtech’s custom sealant. After the filling cycle extreme pressure is applied to maximize resin penetration and subsequent sealing. Part is SEALED and ready for PLATING.
