Dear <<First Name>>:

Berkeley International Office remains open to provide services and support to the international community. We strongly urge you to submit questions via email or phone, or make use of our drop-in virtual student advising, available during normal advising drop-in hours (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 10 am–12 p.m. and 1–4 p.m.), rather than visiting in person. We encourage you to practice social distancing to protect both yourself and others around you and slow the spread of COVID-19.

Our drop-in virtual student advising is available during advising drop-in hours (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 10 a.m.–12 p.m. and 1–4 p.m.). Please see our Contact Us webpage for access instructions.

Alternatives to common in-person services:

  • Travel endorsements: You can submit an I-20/DS-2019 Replacement Document request to internationaloffice@berkeley.edu and request mailout to you at any location
  • Document pickup: Again, we can mail it to you! If you wish to have your documents mailed to you, email internationaloffice@berkeley.edu to notify us that you would prefer mailout. We can send documents via USPS First Class (regular) mail (1-2 weeks for domestic deliveries or longer for international deliveries) or Express Mail (recommended!). For Express Mail, follow the instructions on our website and include your eShip order number in your email request.
  • Request forms & academic adviser signatures: Email request forms (CPT, OPT, I-20/DS-2019 Extension) to us at internationaloffice@berkeley.edu rather than coming in person. If your form requires an academic adviser signature, see our Student Request Forms page for info about request form virtual signatures from academic advisers.

Additional services that we can provide through virtual online advising, email, and phone:

  • Employment advising (OPT, CPT, J-1 Academic Training)
  • OPT Doc Checks - register for one of our online webinars and check out our OPT webpage and tutorial!
  • Travel questions
  • Academic questions
  • Visa status questions
  • General questions
Please take care of yourselves, continue to check our Coronavirus Updates & FAQ page for the latest updates and information, and reach out to us if we can be of assistance during this challenging time.

Sincerely,

Berkeley International Office
