Winners!

I think that is an appropriate title.  Let me explain:

Original Painting:  I put all the names in a paint tray, which I though apt.  But it didn't work, the papers kept popping out when I tried to stir them around, so I dumped them all in a box, held it over my head, reached in and pulled out...  Trish & Dave Colwell.  Congratulations!!

Original Work on Paper:  I then proceed to to pull out two more names, to receive a 9x9 inch painting of their choice... Kate Mills and Charlie Webster.  Again, congratulations!!

I will be in touch with the winners and send images to choose from in a couple of weeks (unless you already know which one you want).  In the meantime, one more winning category:

50% off any Work Created During the Residency: (plus shipping) This offer is for all of your receiving the Daily Dose. Thank you for supporting me in this endeavor!

Prices will be as follows: 6x6 acrylic on paper, $95; 9x9 acrylic on vellum, $150; 24x24 oil on line, $950; 30x30 oil on linen, $1500; 36x36 oil on linen, $1950.  So half off those prices (plus shipping).  You may notice these are significantly less than my landscape paintings, which is not because I value them less but I simply have no track record with abstracts, so it seems reasonable to start them low.  If they sell like hotcakes and I can't keep up, I'll have to reassess.  In the meantime, you can get in on the ground floor at half-price!

I consider myself to be the luckiest recipient.  I have had this wonderful opportunity to focus solely on my work, without distraction.  It has been refreshing to be in an atmosphere where the value of art is taken for granted.  I also have created a body of work that is separate yet related to my landscapes. Additionally, and unexpected exploration into watermedia on paper, which has been frustrating, fun and energizing.

There is a final open studios tonight.  I will make a short video of my studio all set up, and send it to you tonight or tomorrow.  Then it's time to pack up and leave!

Warmest regards,

Rachel
Winner

This receptacle was appropriate but impractical.  I ended up using a cardboard box. :)
I'm cutting pieces of glassine to layer between the rolled paintings for shipping.
