**see re-posted paintings and title lists, below.  One painting got title the same thing by different people-- that is very cool.**

An Uphill Slog

My brother-in-law used to make the best salsa ever.  I devoured it any time I had a chance.  I usually took a container home with me, too.  Naturally, I complimented him effusively on his culinary expertise, expressing elegantly-phrased gratitude for being so lucky to be a recipient.  Occasionally, I may have requested that the salsa be prepared when we were invited for dinner.  Or sometimes, possibly, when we invited them for dinner.  One day, he surprised me with the recipe.  The recipe?!  What did I want with the recipe! Clearly, he did not understand the nature of our relationship.

That's kind of the story in my studio at the moment. Things were going so well!  Painting like mad, the ideas just flowing out of me-- I actually ran out of canvas, rather unexpectedly.  But I considered it serendipitous, in that it gave me a week or so to explore some other media and expand my repertoire.  Notice the elegantly-phrased gratitude?  However.  My repertoire does not seem to be budging, and I am Working. So. Hard.  Working.  Meh.

Warmest regards,

Bravely Being Whiny

These were an experiment in monotypes-- where you ink glass (my palette, in this case), press the paper on to it and remove to find your image in reverse.  These were pretty slap-dash because of working with acrylics, which dry fast.  I'd like to try it with inks or oils or put a slow-dry medium in the acrylics.
This is acrylics on watercolor paper.  I'm not jumping up and down, but I like it okay.
My work table.  Not much to show for several days' work.  Meh.  Sigh.  Did I mention "meh?"  Meh.
