We were all impressed by the size of the snow "mountain" in our parking lot and Principal Eric Becker just had to know how tall it was. After setting up base camp in the parking lot, Mr. Becker scaled the heights of Mt. SFX and discovered it was 22 feet high!

7th/8th Grade Girls
The 7/8 Girls season came to an end on Sunday with a loss in the state tournament. Anna led the scoring with six points, Mel had three, Larissa and Ashleigh each had two, and Sierra rounded out the scoring with one point.

I am very proud of this team. The girls played hard and competed throughout every game this season, regardless of score or opponent. It was a pleasure to be surrounded with a great group of young ladies. I would like to wish the 7th graders good luck next season. This was the last game for the 8th grade girls playing for SFX. I wish them well and hope to see them playing next year in high school.

I want to give a big thank you to Coach Moe Matte for volunteering this year. It was great working alongside Coach Moe and I know the team enjoyed having him as coach as well. I also wanted to thank Anne Gorrigan for doing the book at each game and helping out when needed. - Donnie Sartwel

5th Grade Boys
Last Saturday, the St. Francis Xavier 4/5 team played at Winooski High School in a playoff game at 12:30pm against Mater Christi.  In a rematch of the week before, St. Francis came out HOT!  On the back of Dallas St. Peter who nailed two 3-pointers and ended with 14 points (one off his season high) St. Francis showed they would not back down.  However, the size of Mater Christi proved to be too much for the young team in the end, and SFX fell 35 – 25.  Samuel Parris added a solid 8 points, while Mason Griffiths and Coleton Merchant added 2 and 1 point(s) respectively.  Shane Mobley was a rebounding machine tallying 4 boards.  Coleton Merchant, and Sam Parris grabbed two each, while Mason Griffiths and Dallas St. Peter tallied one apiece.  Other players logging solid minutes on the floor were Stosh Zuk, Colton Fay, Owen Messineo, Caleb Kruger, and Elijah Wood.  Missing was John Ahonen.

Congratulations to a great season.  WHAT AN EXCELLENT TEAM and GREAT GROUP OF BOYS!  Such a pleasure to coach such fine young men.  A huge shout out to their parents and teachers.  True ambassadors of their school and Parish for whom they represented.  I am honored to be their coach. - Travis St. Peter

8th Grade Boys
In the first round of the 2017 CYO Vermont Boys Tournament Grade 7/8 division, #2 seed SFX took on #7 seed Mater Christi B team.  The SFX Golden Angels took a quick 7-0 lead and never looked back.  It took until just before half for the younger Mater Christi boys to get on the board, with a lopsided 32-1 score at half.  SFX moved the ball around in the second half using passing skills to burn the clock.  They went on to cement a 54-9 win, and will face #3 seed St. John Vianney on Saturday, March 18 at 11 a.m.  Scoring was led by Max Gordon with 14, Carson Corrigan with 10 points, Zac Roy with 9, and Deon Mitchell had 8.  JJ Stockbridge added 5 and Chris Prim and Saladi Mayange each added 4.  If the SFX boys are able to defeat their St. John cross-town rivals, they’ll move on to Connecticut for the Parish division tournament play on April 2.
