OCTOBER 2020

HELLO SPRING – IT'S TIME TO GO OUTSIDE

Hello everyone!

How are you doing? With the easing of lockdown restrictions we are excited to welcome back (almost)* anyone that would like to resume face-to-face clinic visits for hands-on treatment. In fact, we're so excited that our team made a fun video. Click HERE to watch.

As we move into warmer weather, we know many are excited to venture into the garden to do some inspired planting or tackle a few spring cleaning projects. Often our enthusiasm can get the better of us and we end up a little sore and sorry after over doing it. If that sounds like you, we've compiled 8 hand therapy tips to help avoid hand and wrist pain when gardening.

Our hands are our life. This month our free educational webinars cover the important topics of hand Osteoarthritis management and hand conditions that may effect new parents. All are welcome so please share the details with anyone that you feel might benefit from these sessions.

In this issue:
  • 8 tips to prevent hand and wrist pain when gardening
  • Pregnancy and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Free hand therapy online webinars
  • Tips to improve your child's handwriting

Stay safe and keep smiling.

Most pregnant women are diagnosed within the third trimester of their pregnancy, however the second trimester is also a common time for symptoms to emerge.

TIPS TO IMPROVE YOUR CHILD'S HANDWRITING

In a digital age where our kids tend to be far more tech savvy than us parents – is handwriting still an important skill for them to learn?

Put simply – Yes! Handwriting is a complex process that is more involved than just putting pen to paper. The benefits of your child becoming proficient at handwriting are far reaching; superior academic achievements, improved memory, supports fine motor development, better comprehension, healthy self esteem to name a few.
