Have your say on customer interaction guidance for remote operators 

In September the Commission introduced new, more prescriptive, customer interaction requirements for remote operators.   

We are now seeking views on proposed guidance in relation to these new requirements.  

We are keen to hear from stakeholders about any experiences of the implementation of the new requirements and about any ways in which the proposed guidance could be improved.

Declaration of gambling regulators on the FIFA World Cup 2022

With the start of 2022 FIFA World Cup, we’ve released a declaration along with the gambling regulators of France, Germany, Portugal and Spain. 

Working closely together during this period, we are committed to monitoring the gambling market, ensuring advertising, betting integrity and consumer protection regulations are followed by gambling operators.

Insitute of Licensing Conference – Sarah Gardner key note speech 

Last week our deputy CEO, Sarah Gardner delivered a speech at the Insitute of Licensing Conference. 

Sarah discussed how we work with local authorities as co-regulators and highlighted some areas where the relationship is particularly important at present.

2022 Young People and Gambling Report 

On 10 November 2022 we released our 2022 Young People and Gambling Report, an annual study which helps understand children’s and young people’s exposure to, and involvement in, all types of gambling. 

The results are used by us to better protect this specific group from harm and our approach this year was further explained in our update blog last month.

New online advertising guidance 

Operators are being reminded to ensure they are familiar with new advertising guidance from the Committee of Advertising Practice.

This CAP guidance sets out key principles to allow advertisers to responsibly target age-restricted ads such as those for alcohol and gambling.
