HM Treasury money laundering consultation response and UK FATF report
HM Treasury have published their consultation response setting out amendments to the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017 which casino operators must take note of.
Additionally, the Financial Action Taskforce (FATF) has published a follow-up report on the UK’s compliance with FATF AML and CTF requirements.
Emerging money laundering and terrorist financing risks
The Commission’s sixth emerging risks update (June 2022) highlights money laundering and terrorist financing risks associated with operators failing to comply with data protection requests from law enforcement, the addition of Gibraltar to the FATF’s ‘grey list’ and common operator failings.
