How are we doing? It's such an odd time that we're living in.
There is light at the end of the tunnel of course but even that, for me, is contributing to a strange-ness right now - some kind of suspension of time as we all just wait for things to improve.
It's why, in class this past week, I've talked a lot about presence, about kindness and about the discipline required to keep beginning again every time we fall, falter, are unkind, or get ourselves stuck in some kind of a hole...
Interestingly, it's a conversation that has tipped over into other walks of life too - in the workplace with people who are pinning themselves to particular resolutions, with the kids as they try and master new skills, and in my own head (with myself!) as I continue to navigate some trickiness.
Let me put a question to you then - could you close out the rest of this week with a little more awareness, a little extra kindness, a little more 'beginning again'? What would that mean? What would that deliver? Once it's done, how did it feel?
Beyond that prompt, I've really just got two key things to tell you today:
- The first is that REST, our fortnightly yin session, is finally back, beginning this Friday. It's so important to look after ourselves right now and this really is 90 mins that you can gift to yourself and come away feeling so different as a result. It'll cost you £8.50 - come give it a go.
- And the second is that, four months after its launch, I'm about to open up WRITE to a second (small!) group of people.
The latter is quite the thing and if you'll indulge me, I'd like to say a little more...
When I finally launched WRITE in September last year it was with more than a little trepidation. I knew it was important but quite truthfully I was afraid of it not being well-received given it wasn't what you perhaps think of as "yoga".
Wow though, if it wasn't one of the best things I've done - and beyond fulfilling. I've been working with the same small group of people throughout and, truly, it's been magic. The learnings, sharings, community and growth have been such a wonder to be part of and I know it's going to remain a central part of what I do from hereon in.
I've got some setting up to do before the new group is bookable and, yep, I'll be emailing you about it again in due course. If you're keen though, want to know more, or even want to bagsy one of the 6 spots (I said it'd be small!) email me. Differently to last time, there won't be the opportunity to join in at a later date so it will very much be now or never (well... much later in any case!).
Back in touch soon.
With very much love to you all,
