Jack Whyte has unfortunately had to withdraw from Word on the Lake Writers’ Festival.
He will be greatly missed by all of us. He is such a great presenter, writer, and mentor. We all send him our best wishes for good health and a relaxing summer.

We are delighted to announce the addition of Gail Anderson-Dargatz to our list of presenters. Gail very generously agreed to step in following the unfortunate withdrawal of Jack Whyte, due to personal reasons.

Ian is a multiple award-winning playwright, screenwriter, TV show runner, and novelist. Born in North Carolina, he was raised in Kamloops, where he told his piano teacher that he wanted to be a writer when he grew up. (Her reply: “Yes, that’s a nice hobby. But what do you want to do for a living?”) Ian will be facilitating a couple of workshops during the weekend as well, including
