Hello Church Family,

I am sure that all of us are extremely aware of the Corona Virus or specifically known as COVID-19.  I have to be honest, at first, I did not pay much attention to it but as the media gave it more coverage I simply couldn't help but dive in and learn everything that I could.  I have read many articles and watched several interviews to be informed and I am sure you have as well.  I am always cautious about the spread of misinformation in our world today so I encourage you to read about this virus from credible sources such as the CDC website.  As a church, we plan to keep functioning as we always do because we don't currently see this as something that should deter us from our typical schedule.  However, we all want to take considerate precautions such as staying home when we are sick, washing our hands and being mindful of others publicly.  Also, please pray for our mission and outreach teams over the next few months.  Our concern isn't necessarily that we get the virus but that we our missional efforts are hindered and our re-entries cause problems.  I am praying that we are not fearful in any way nor do we back away from engaging one another or others - but we will seek to be wise in all of this.

As I was praying today, I really sensed that the Lord was highlighting the issue of fear.  Fear has been something I have been targeting for the last few months in various ways through prayer.  Fear is a serious enemy to us as we follow Jesus.  This is why there are so many passages devoted to dealing with it and I would like to take a moment to share a few of those with you;

John 14:27 - "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."

Psalm 34:4 - "I sought the Lord, and he answered me; He delivered me from all my fears."

Isaiah 41:13 - "For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you."

2nd Timothy 1:7 - "for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."

One of the main reasons that there are so many passages in the Bible addressing the issue of fear is because we can easily struggle with it.  There are many kinds of fear but regardless of the its source we know that God is our strength.  As we seek God first we can be assured that He will not only help us stand but MOVE right into what He has called us to do.  Fear cannot have us.  Fear is a foe that we can confront and overcome through the strength that God provides - amen!  I have been praying that we would continue to grow more and more in faith as challenges arise around us and I am praying that very thing over us right now!

One more thing.  This Saturday we have our annual men's conference from 8am to 2pm.  Maybe it's crazy to hope for every man to come to this but honestly, I am hoping that every man that can come - will come.  I just invited 3 guys that are not from our church and all of them said yes and signed up. Awesome!  I am calling the men of NWC to come out this Saturday and join us.  You can register by clicking HERE and if money is a problem just let us know by emailing or show up and we will take care of you.  I simply want you to come!  I will be there talking about what it means to BE and MAKE disciples of Jesus.  We will have food, workshops, and more.  Hope to see you Saturday!

I am looking forward to gathering with you this weekend to worship God and almost wrap up our series on Hearing God's Voice.  As always, feel free to email me anytime for any reason!

God bless you
