Hello Church Family,
I hope that you had a great Christmas with your friends and family and might I add (with one more day to go) - HAPPY NEW YEAR!  2019 was such a wonderful year for the Dixon's, especially as our family joined our hearts to Northwest Church.  However, I am really excited and expectant to launch into 2020 with all of you.

There is no doubt that God is moving in our midst but I hunger for more of Him for all of us.  I long for all our kids to walk closely and powerfully with Jesus.  I desire for our surrounding community to hear the Gospel and respond with total surrender to His Word and ways.  I want our weekend gatherings to continue to be a powerful encounter with God evidenced by more salvation, healing, deliverance and decisions to make Jesus Lord in every area of life.  What I am referring to is more widely known as REVIVAL.

This last weekend Pastor Darvi talked to us about our upcoming 40 days of prayer and fasting.  I am really excited to enter into this season with you with the expectation that we will see a greater measure of Revival through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit.  Why do we ask the church to fast and pray collectively as a body?  Maybe you have asked this question.  In the Bible, it is very common for the people of God to fast and pray together.  In fact, there are about 70 references to fasting (with prayer) in the Bible and almost all of them show or imply that a people, not just a person, will fast.  In our individualized culture we can often be put off by an all church fast (or things like it) but let me encourage you to seek the Lord about how you can unify your heart during this season.  I don't want anybody to feel pressured so if you need to ask questions please email me and let me know how I can help.

We have many new things coming this month so make sure to stay tuned to these emails as well as your church bulletin.  I am looking forward to launching a new sermon series called "Hearing God's Voice" based on a book I wrote called "Hearing God."  This is such a vital aspect of our walk with God and I hope to clarify what it means to hear God in our life as we walk through many passages together.  If you would like a free ebook of "Hearing God" to follow along in the weeks to come then just reply to this email and I will send it to you.

I love hearing from you so feel free to email me or call me at the church office anytime.  Please know I am praying for you alongside our staff.  May God bless you!

Pastor Ben Dixon
