Introducing Arts Grow SC

Meet “Arts Grow SC” -- the $20 million partnership to address pandemic-related learning loss announced in June by the South Carolina Arts Commission (SCAC) and South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE).

Arts Grow SC will help public schools throughout the state address learning loss with proven, arts-based learning initiatives. This landmark investment of $20 million will allow SCAC’s team of professionals and network of partners to:

  • help schools and teachers fill learning loss gaps in the arts,
  • use arts integration to remediate core subject areas,
  • and provide summer and afterschool learning opportunities that leverage the arts in schools throughout the state.

As newsletter subscribers, you will be the first to know about updates and opportunities funded and offered by this project!

Apply Now - Summer Arts Education Project Grants

Deadline January 4, 2022

The South Carolina Arts Commission welcomes applications for its Summer Arts Education Project Grants program. Through the program, grants of up to $50,000 over two years ($25,000 per summer) will be awarded in support of quality arts education programs for K-12 students between school years, through both traditional providers (arts organizations) and other organizations (e.g., social service, health, community, education) that use the arts to meet the educational, developmental, and social needs of K-12 students. This two-year grant will support projects occurring during the summers of 2022 and 2023.

The opportunity requires a 1:2 match (grantee: SCAC), and at least 50 percent of the applicant’s match must be cash. Eligible applicants include most South Carolina nonprofit organizations (arts and non-arts), colleges and universities, and units of government.
