Interfaith Thanksgiving: Wednesday, November 25, 7:00 PM Larchmont & Mamaroneck
Each year, houses of worship in Larchmont and Mamaroneck join together to offer an interfaith Thanksgiving Service. This year, participants recorded their parts of the service and LMC Media put the pieces together into one video.
St. Thomas will host a Zoom watching of the video in place of our Wednesday evening Eucharist on November 25th, Thanksgiving Eve.
The service will also be streamed on LMC TV Wednesday Evening and on Thanksgiving.
This year’s Interfaith Thanksgiving offering will be used to purchase $25.00 gift cards from local grocery stores which will be given to Mamaroneck School District social workers to distribute to families in immediate need of food. Our social workers have direct contact with families with emerging needs due to health concerns, loss of employment or quarantining requirements that restrict income. These gift cards will give our school based social workers the flexibility they need to provide immediate support to supplement other local services. To donate, text GIVEFOOD2020 to 41444. All donations are 100% tax deductible and can be matched. These donations are facilitated by the Larchmont Mamaroneck Lions Foundation, who are serving as a fiscal sponsor for this offering.
‘Tis the Season to order your Wreath!
Jo Ann Seipel has kindly supplied the Church with 48 wreaths to decorate for this year’s fund raiser. Please contact Nicky Kennedy at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to reserve a wreath/wreaths. Price remains $25 per wreath with your choice of ribbon and balls or pine cones. Wreaths will be ready for pick up or delivery the week of December 1. Although there is no Angel Fair this year pre-payment is appreciated. Checks to be payable to All Saints’ Church.
As always, thank you for your support!
Harrison Holiday Project The Town of Harrison invites All Saints' to bring joy to local families during the Holiday Season. The deadline for the project is Wednesday, December 9. Here is their letter on how to participate this year:
Over the past several years, The Harrison Holiday Project has collected funds for food and gifts to give to Harrison families in need. This initiative, which was created to spread holiday cheer to needy families in Harrison, West Harrison and Purchase, has become the ‘feel-good’ project of the year that many look forward to. It brings this wonderful community of ours together to help one another. As the 2020 Holiday Season approaches, we recognize that this year has been more challenging in so many ways for our entire community.
Everyone likes to feel special during the holiday season, no matter his or her age. As residents and past supporters of the Project, we are once again reaching out to you to help bring holiday joy to members of our community. With the difficult economic conditions brought on by the COVID-19 crisis, the number of individuals that the Harrison Department of Community Services assists has increased dramatically. We hope that with your generosity, we will be able to provide for over 460 individuals within our community. The Harrison Holiday Project families range from 1 to 10 people including the elderly, single parents, and over 180 children, infants to teens.
Due to unprecedented circumstances, the Harrison Holiday Project will look different this year. In lieu of purchasing physical gifts for each person, we will be giving every individual a gift card to Target which will allow them to purchase toys, clothing, electronics, food and much more. In addition, each individual will also receive a gift card to their local supermarket.
To sponsor one or more families, please send a check payable to “The Harrison Holiday Project" to The Harrison Holiday Project, P.O. Box 47, Harrison, NY 10528 or use the envelope provided OR please visit https://paypal.me/HolidayProject2020to make an online donation.
The average dollar amount that The Harrison Holiday Project gives to each family in need is $150. All monies collected will help us purchase the gift cards as well as support the Harrison Food Pantry. Any donation that you can make, large or small, would be greatly appreciated.
This is the perfect time of year to focus on giving rather than receiving. Please generously demonstrate why it truly is great to live in Harrison by helping your neighbors feel the joy of this year’s holiday season. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us via email at email@example.com or send mail to The Harrison Holiday Project, P.O. Box 47, Harrison, NY 10528.
With Much Gratitude- Jenny Schenk & Toni Braiotta
