The World Learner School Annual Meeting is set for Tuesday, March 15, 2022 beginning at 7:00 pm. We are currently planning for an in-person meeting but will know more in the coming weeks.
This meeting is very important to our school as we will be reviewing and taking action on bylaw changes, electing directors to serve on the Board and discussing major topics relevant to our school.
Please make plans to attend this important event and watch for details in the coming weeks. It is imperative that a quorum of the membership be present at the meeting to conduct the business of the Board.

Tips for Reading #2-22, February is “I Love to Read Month”
February 2022 Edition
Notes from Susan Olson, Reading Interventionist
February celebrates “I Love to Read Month.” Schedule local library time to revisit old favorite books and explore the latest book releases. Libraries feature newly released children, teen and adult fiction and nonfiction in easy to find locations. On a recent weekly visit to Chanhassen Library I perused the children’s new book nonfiction section, finding these gems:
Crow Bar: The Smartest Bird in the World, by Jean Craighead George (Julie of the Wolves author), Luke George and Twig George. Published in November, 2021, the book takes a look at our intelligent bird friend, the crow.
Tracing Tortoise: A Mission to Save a Galopagos Giant, by Kate Messner. Published in October of 2021, the book reviews the lives of those massive turtles in Galapagos Island.
Begin With a Bee, by Liza Ketchum, Jacqueline Briggs Marin and Phyllis Root. Published in June of 2021, the life of a honey bee’s impact on the environment is shared. “It all begins with a bee…”
Animals to the Rescue! Amazing True Stories from Around the World by Sandra Markle. Published in November of 2021, the book looks at animals working with humans around the world.
Library visit suggestions:
-Schedule weekly or every-other week visits to the library.
-Make sure your student signs up for his/her own library card, if he/she hasn’t already!
-Give each student a library book bag to carry finds for check-out. Use the book bag to store/keep books to avoid that library book under the bed or in the dog-house search. Also helps avoid damages to the books.
-Suggest your student record the books he/she has read, giving a rating of yes or no to: I would recommend this book; list connections to other books; recording quotes or photos that were memorable.
-List other books to look for next time you visit the library -- don’t forget to stop by the new books exhibits!
-Host a weekly “What I’m reading” dinner discussion.
Pick Up at End of Day
If you have a change to your child's pick up or bus schedule, please call or email the office by noon to notify us about the change that day.
