The Great Egg Scramble
Saturday, April 9, 2022 - 10am - 1pm

Hop on over and join us for a FREE Citywide egg hunt for ages 0-12. Enjoy games, crafts and photo ops with The Bunny and his furry friends! We are so EGG-cited and can't wait to see you! There will be two separate egg hunts held at the locations listed.

Family Fun Day
Saturday, May 28, 2022 - 11am - 3pm
La Pintoresca Park, 45 E. Washington Blvd.


La Pintoresca Family Fun Day is celebrating 26 years of bringing families, friends and neighbors together for an afternoon under the sun. Kick-off the start of summer with the opening of the new water splash pad, skate park, and basketball court. Enjoy games, face painting, crafts, entertainment, video game bus, laser tag, and food.  Come meet new people or reconnect with old friends as we commemorate one of the great parks in Northwest Pasadena. Bring a lawn chair or picnic blanket to enjoy the outdoor concert. For more information, please call (626) 345-0706.

The City of Pasadena Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals with a passion for working with youth. Our summer camps and aquatics programs need qualified candidates to supervise and conduct recreational activities this summer.

ROSE Internship Program 
The Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department is looking for motivated youth and young adults to intern for City departments and local nonprofits. Intern assignments include day camps, sports clinics, program outreach, event assistance, maintenance, clerical, technology, engineering, and planning work.

Programs

Spring Mighty Mites Basketball
Spring Mighty Mites basketball will introduce youth ages 5-8 to the fundamentals of basketball including shooting, dribbling, passing, defense, and hand-eye coordination in a safe and fun environment.

Participants will learn from experienced youth sports instructors on Saturdays from 9:00 am-10:00 am. Following training, participants will apply what they have learned in short practice games. Space is limited.

SCHEDULE:

  • Dates: Saturday, May 7 - Saturday, June 4, 2022*
  • Times: 9:00 am - 10:00 am
  • Ages/Locations:
    • Ages 5-6 - Victory Park Gym, 2575 Paloma St. 
    • Ages 7-8 - Robinson Park Gym, 1081 N. Fair Oaks Ave.
FEE: 
  • $10 for Pasadena Residents/PUSD Students
  • $95 for non-residents

Spring Youth Basketball League

The spring youth basketball league offers recreation and competitive league play for youth in grades 3rd-8th. Each team will have the opportunity to play up to  five games per season. Participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of the game in a team setting by experienced youth sports instructors. The top seeds from each division will advance to the playoffs.

League games are typically played at McKinley School, Robinson Park, Victory Park, and/or Washington STEAM Multilingual Academy Middle School Gym. Participants wishing to enter the league, but not on a current team, will be referred to teams at McKinley, Robinson, Victory, or Washington. Teams will begin practice on Monday, April 11th. 
 

SCHEDULE: 

  • Dates: Tuesday, May 3 - Saturday, June 11, 2022
  • Divisions:
    • A: 7th/8th Grade - Thursday and/or Friday games.
    • B: 5th/6th Grade - Wednesday and/or Saturday games.
    • C: 3rd/4th Grade - Tuesday and/or Saturday games.
FEE: 
  • $10 for Pasadena Residents/PUSD Students
  • $95 for non-residents
  • *(No program on 5/28)

Spring Youth Volleyball League

The Spring youth volleyball league offers recreational play for participants in grades 3rd-8th. This league will introduce participants to the basic fundamentals of volleyball including: proper footwork, serving, setting, hitting, and passing while improving players hand/eye coordination and physical fitness while competing in fun league games. Teams will begin practice on Monday, April 11. 

Each team will have the opportunity to play up to (5) five games per season. The top teams from each league will get to advance to the playoffs.

SCHEDULE: 

  • Dates: Tuesday, May 3 - Friday, June 10, 2022*
  • Divisions:
    • A Varsity: 7th/8th Grade 
    • A JV: 7th/8th Grade 
    • B: 5th/6th Grade 
    • C: 3rd/4th Grade 

FEE: 

  • $10 for Pasadena Residents/PUSD Students
  • $95 for non-residents

Summer Day Camps
The City of Pasadena Recreation, Parks, and Community Services department will be offering classic summer day camps for children 5-12 and teens. Our summer camp programs are designed for children to create memories, learn skills and have a safe place to socialize with their peers. Our staff are committed to providing participants with a fun and safe experience. Our 2022 summer day camps will run June 13 through July 29. Due to the ever-changing situation with COVID-19, summer camp 2021 policies and procedures will be released shared with parents/guardians before camps start. Early bird registration begins Monday, April 4, 2022 for Pasadena Residents and PUSD students. General registration begins Monday, April 18, 2021. Summer Swim Lessons 
 
Learn to swim this summer with the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department Aquatics Program. The program will be offered at four operating pool locations beginning Monday, June 13 through Thursday, August 5 at Villa Parke Community Center, Pasadena High School, Muir High School and Blair High School Pools. All lessons are 50 minutes in duration and offered 4 days per week. Registration will open on May 9 for Pasadena residents and PUSD students and May 23 for the general public.
