FIT360 (Outdoors)

Join us for 360° of heart pumping, fat burning and muscle toning circuit training! This fast paced, full body workout will challenge individuals of all fitness levels. If you’re looking to burn calories, tone your body and improve your overall fitness, then FIT360 is the class for you!

Sports Training (Outdoors)
Youth in 1st – 8th grade will have an opportunity to take part in sports training sessions focused on flag football and basketball sports fundamentals. Participants will work on skills development drills, conditioning, and have the opportunity to participate in two team competitions within the trainings.

The focus of the training will be to help youth get back in to pre-season shape after taking a long break from sports during the pandemic. Participants will have a great time training and competing. Training will be conducted by some of Pasadena finest sports instructors. Space is limited.

Volleyball Training (Outdoors)
Looking for a fun and safe way to participate in volleyball training? Then look no further. Youth in 3rd – 8th grade will have the opportunity to work on volleyball fundamentals, skills, conditioning, and two team competitions. Volleyball training will focus on conditioning, and skill building, and will cover offensive and defensive drills. Participants will have the opportunity to participate in two team competitions within the trainings. Training will be conducted by some of Pasadena finest sports instructors. Space is limited.

Soccer Skill Building and Fundamentals (Outdoors)
The Villa Parke Youth Soccer League is offering safe, fun, and well-organized skill building and fundamental sessions. We are excited and prepared to get back out on the field! Trained and experienced City staff will take to the field to help your child develop their soccer skills, while also developing overall fitness and conditioning.

Non-Contact Boxing Program (Outdoors)

Join us for coed, non-contact Olympic-style boxing geared towards health and fitness. The Villa Parke boxing program is offering a fundamentally structured, Olympic style boxing technique geared towards health and fitness lead by experienced instructors. Training will focus on improving overall fitness, mental and physical health in a fun, non-contact boxing program. Boxing greatly helps in the development of social skills, self-confidence, leadership, character and sportsmanship.

Youth fitness class is designed to provide a structured physical fitness program to develop strength, flexibility and endurance for children 6-17. This program helps children lead a healthier lifestyle while learning the importance of being actively fit.

Piano for Beginners (Virtual)
Virtual Piano classes are offered to build a foundation of music theory and basic concepts of reading music. Each student will be assigned loaner keyboards, if they do not already own one to use for the duration of the session. Students learn the basics of fingering, rhythm, timing tempos, and dynamics by doing exercises and playing songs. Intermediate students will take their learning to the next level with more complex technics and tunes.

Spring Break Adventures
Join us for a week of fun and fast-paced activities during PUSD spring break, April 5-9 at Robinson Park Recreation Center or Victory Park Recreation Center. This five day Spring Adventure has a variety of recreation activities, like fitness, sports, arts and crafts, and dance. Program hours are 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The cost of the program is $30 per week per child. Meals and snacks are not provided.

ROSE Internship Program 
The Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department is looking for motivated youth and young adults to intern for City departments and local nonprofits. Intern assignments include day camps, sports clinics, program outreach, event assistance, maintenance, clerical, technology, engineering, and planning work. All interns will be eligible to receive a $1,500 stipend.  The mobile and desktop friendly online application opens on Monday, March 22 and closes Friday, April 16, 2021.
 
Internship requirements include: 14-24 years old, low or moderate household income, social security number, identification, GPA 2.0+ (for students), and a valid email address.

Summer Day Camps
The City of Pasadena Recreation, Parks, and Community Services department will be offering classic summer day camps for children 5-12 and teens. Our summer camp programs are designed for children to create memories, learn skills and have a safe place to socialize with their peers. Each program will have a max number of participants and is structured to facilitate social distancing (adhering to Pasadena Public Health Department Guidelines). Our staff are committed to providing participants with a fun and safe experience. Our 2021 summer day camps will run June 14 through August 6. Due to the ever-changing situation with COVID-19, summer camp 2021 policies and procedures will be released shared with parents/guardians before camps start. Early bird registration begins Monday, April 12, 2021 for Pasadena Residents and PUSD students. General registration begins Monday, April 19, 2021. Online Registration ONLY. Summer Swim Lessons 
 
Learn to swim this summer with the Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Department Aquatics Program. The program will be offered at four operating pool locations beginning Monday, June 14 through Thursday, August 6 at Robinson Park, Villa Parke, Pasadena High School, and Blair High School. All lessons are 50 minutes in duration and offered 4 days per week. Morning lessons for week 1 or 2 are offered at a reduced rate. Registration will open on May 10 for Pasadena residents and May 17 for PUSD students and the general public. NOTE: Pasadena Public Health Department COVID-19 protocols will be in place and include: screening for symptoms; limited group sizes; face coverings; and social distancing.

This major upgrade brings improved mobile access, expanded search functionality, social sharing, and an easier registration experience to the City classes, programs, and facility reservations. Due to COVID-19 regulations, class registration is online only.
