SOMATIC MOVEMENT Summit: Artful Embodiment,
Diving in the Waters of Creation
July 1-6, 2018
The Omega Institute
Water supports all life; it is the generative primordium that unifies existence...
In a fractured world, we are well served to fully embody the ways of water. Embodying water, we take on its ability to adapt and remain coherent through radical change. In the felt sense of fluidity, we feel more whole and alive, enabling us to see fresh options and resiliently navigate change in our health, our relationships, our work, and our communities.
The breath, sound, and fluid movement explorations in the somatic awareness practice of Continuum take us on a deeper dive into the art of becoming like water. Daily movement sessions delve into the fluid process of embryological development, allowing us to experience the transformative and regenerative nature of our own physiology.
An essential truth emerges: we are living art. Somatic explorers, each following his or her own stream while supporting others with presence and insight, create an enriching community. By nourishing our life force, we connect with our innate creative capacity where freedom and joy reign.
The skills shared in this workshop will benefit anyone interested in moving the world from embodiment, including bodyworkers, artists, activists, therapists, teachers, and parents. Suitable for all levels of movement ability.
Omega offers childcare and a variety of lodging options. Continuing education credits for bodyworkers pending.
