Staying Connected

Worship Services Sundays at 10 a.m.

Watch our online worship service on Sunday at 10 a.m. We have two options for viewing the service:
  1. Livestream
  2. Facebook Live
Both options will connect you to a live stream of the same service. Connect to the service a little before 10 a.m. so you will be ready when the worship starts.

The following information should help you prepare for the service. The scripture and words to the songs can be found by clicking on the links for the scripture and song names.

VBS Update

We held off on this decision as long as we could as I know there are such weightier matters and so much uncertainty ahead of us right now.

Unfortunately, this time that is usually reserved for large scale planning and volunteer recruitment as well as the concern that June may still not be a recommended time for mass gatherings has convinced us of the need to reevaluate VBS this year.

This is such a painful realization as we know our children, our church, and our community are so in need of the very best aspects of VBS. We crave community, working together and serving others more than ever.

And so the VBS Leadership team is committed to crafting a brand new event incorporating some of the best parts of VBS into a one day community outreach event once it is safe to gather in large gatherings again.

Please know this is personally the hardest and most painful cancellation yet and I'm sure will be to many of our families. I hope you allow yourself to grieve yet one more loss and then join with us to look forward to a time when we can come together once again and even create a new experience together. Contact Me if you have questions.

IN Annual Conference Postponed

The Coronavirus, or COVID-19, continues to affect the ways that we live, the ways that we minister to others, the ways that we “do” church, and the ways that we meet with—or don’t meet with—each other.

After consulting health care professionals, including epidemiologists at IU Health, we feel it is most prudent to postpone our Annual Conference session, previously scheduled for June 11-13. This was not an easy decision, but it is one that we need to take for the protection of our clergy and laity.

Instead of the original June dates, the Indiana Annual Conference will be held on two Saturdays: August 15 at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind., and October 10 at St. Luke’s UMC in Indianapolis. Different information will be shared on both dates, so please mark your calendars for both. Even as we meet, special health precautions will be taken.

The world we live in is not the same as it was when our Annual Conference was originally scheduled. Thus, this Annual Conference session is not going to be the same as well. But rest assured, the business of the Church will still happen; ordinations will still be celebrated; retirees will still be honored; and those who have gone before us will still be memorialized.

We apologize in advance because we know that this change will cause difficulty for some of you. And we know this brings up a lot of questions. Many details are still being solidified and will be available next week. Please try to be patient.

I could not be prouder of the ways that you are being the Church in the midst of this pandemic. I look forward to communing with you whenever and wherever that may be.

May God grant us grace, courage, and hope in the coming days.

Be encouraged,

Bishop Julius C. Trimble
Resident Bishop
