Submissions

Musical Chairs

Musical Chairs (Toronto) is always looking for submissions for our monthly reading series. We are a platform for the development of new Canadian musical theatre in all its forms. We offer a venue for creators to present between 30 and 60 minutes of material with a moderated audience feedback session following. We want to be the step between having the idea and having a complete show; perfect for "problem" shows, revisions-in-progress, and "does this even work as a concept" shows. Our season runs from September to June and is always on the second Sunday of the month.

For consideration, send an email with information on your work to at any time.

Forte Musical Theatre Guild

“Naughty but Nice” is an 80-minute musical revue that explores Christmas from a decidedly adult perspective and we’re looking for funny and tuneful songs in which the four-member cast (2M, 2F) will play a variety of characters impacted for better and for worse by the holidays.

Forte Musical Theatre will pay each successful composing team $100 per song as a royalty. Composers and lyricists are invited to submit as many songs as they like, but Forte will only pay for songs actually chosen to be in the show. You retain ownership of your song and we are only paying to use it in our show.

Click here for the full call for submissions. Please submit your materials by Friday, October 7th,  2016.

Seeking Collaborators
CMTWC member Robin Preboy is seeking a story/script writer to collaborate on a musical based on the songs of Kathryn Rose, a Canadian musician. Preboy says Rose's "songs deserve to be out there, to be seen and heard and immortalized, for as you'll hear, they have timeless, universal appeal." Click here for Robin Preboy's full request and send an email if you wish to pursue this collaboration.
