DMAQG Block Lotto
We will be introducing a new idea at the February meeting, a block lotto. A block lotto works like this. Everyone makes the same assigned block in the required colors. Each block made is an entry to win all the blocks, or a reasonable portion, depending on how many are made by the group. If more than 20 blocks are made, we reserve the right to split them into groups so there will be more than one winner. This time around the blocks will be collected and won at the April meeting.
The block we are making is called Lady of the Lake. We will be using the following tutorial, Fat Quarter Shop Free Lady of the Lake. The tutorial asks you to use paper pieced half square triangles, please use whatever method you like. You might as well make 2 blocks while you are at it, so there's no waste and nothing left over. For colors, we will be thinking of spring. Please use two spring colors with good contrast in your block. You don't have to use white at all. Use the good fabric that you would like to receive in a block swap. I'll answer questions at the February meeting, or on our facebook page.
