Computational Thinking

Tuesday, February 4, 2020
2:00pm- 3:30pm
MITH conference room
Experience requirement: none
Personal device requirement: none

We will start this sequence of workshops by examining one major conceptual approach to digital technologies that has developed largely within computational disciplines. Grounded in our various disciplines of the humanities and arts, we will consider "computational thinking." According to its developers and promoters, computational thinking is a way of identifying problems and organizing data to solve those problems in ways that computers can accomplish. Through content modeling and facilitated discussion, we will also identify shortcomings in applying computational thinking in our commitments to Black history, culture, and affect.
