DEFENCE  JOBS

Defence Force Recruiting News

The following roles have been identified as priority roles in the ADF.

ADFA

Year 11 students that are interested in studying at ADFA and joining the defence force should be starting this process now.  You will not apply to UNSW / ADFA until this time next year, but you should be starting the defence force part now.  If you haven’t started it is highly recommended that you book a YOU SESSION with Defence Force Recruiting now.

PROJECTS ABROAD

Overseas immersion trips are probably the last thing you are thinking about right now, there are much bigger issues out there and it will be a while until we are able to travel.

However, expeditions and service travel will continue to provide rich opportunities for students again once international travel resumes.

2020 CANBERRA CAREERSXPO

The Canberra CareersXpo will be held online through our website this year from
1st to 4th September 2020.

We have spread the event over 4 days so there is less congestion on the website and to give people more time to investigate all the options.

There will be no need for students or others to register and this event will be widely promoted throughout the ACT and regional schools. It is free for students to participate.

We felt that with the lack of face-to-face options students and job-seekers needed a conduit to be able to investigate and discover what opportunities are available now and in the future. It has been a tough time for many businesses and tertiary institutions so the option of an online CareersXpo may help institutions to reach out to a new clientele.

More information to follow. Watch this space!!!!!!

VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (VET)

Digital Parents Showcase

The Digital Parents Showcase was designed to help parents better understand vocational education and training (VET) including apprenticeships/traineeships and school-based apprenticeships/ traineeships and give parents the knowledge they need to help their children make informed career choices. vimeo.com

CO-OP NEWS - AUGUST 2020

Just over a month to go in term 3 and we know your students are working hard to consolidate their year's study, and for some undertake exams.  To help remind them what it is they're working towards, particularly in the Business, Engineering and Science sectors, we've compiled a series of Career Chat videos. In these short snapshots from our industry partners, sponsors and alumni they'll hear different paths taken and what these roles really involve.
