"Australia New Zealand as global leaders in the sustainable production and use of biochar"
CEO MESSAGE

Dear Members,

As the year starts to draw to a close, we not only reflect on this year's conference and the brilliant sessions from our various presenters but also a significant step was taken by the board last week to release the first live version of our code of practice. Thank you to our standards committee including Nigel Murphy, Craig Bagnall, Stephen Joseph, Karen Enkelaar, and Graham Lancaster. The code will lead to a process that certified ANZ producers can stamp their products with which will bring integrity, stronger branding, and social acceptance of biochar overall. That process will also generate income for ANZBIG as a not-for-profit will be poured back into industry development and keep us as a strong presence and influence, one of our key performance indicators.

As we also reflect on this year, we ask you as members to please provide feedback through a five-minute survey on how satisfied you are, how you'd like us to improve, and where you see us going. We seek at least a 50% response and will continue to remind you in the lead-up to the Christmas break. Thank you!

Finally, our AGM is coming up the week after next on Wednesday, December 8 at  3 -4 pm followed by drinks in Newcastle, N.S.W. and Hawthorn, Melbourne (see details below) Members only can join us remotely on the Zoom URL. Nominations for the board should be sent directly to nigel.murphy@earthsystems.com.au Look forward to seeing you online for our last event for the year where we will produce our financial and annual report once more.

Please enjoy this month's Drawdown Edition and welcome all renewed and new members particularly New Organisational Member Hunter Water and returning upgrade Small Medium Enterprise member Energy Links Services.
