"Australia New Zealand as global leaders in the sustainable production and use of biochar"
Dear Subscribers,

Given the uncertainty in life at the moment with Covid, we have come up with a PLAN B and C to safe-proof our 5th Conference in Perth, early October. Should state border restrictions be in place at the time, we will have a twin location in Sydney for our eastern state based members AND if the whole country is in lockdown then we will go completely virtual with the sophisticated platform of Hopin thanks to our host NPS. Calls for abstracts are now filling up very fast so if you would like to be part of our programme please download your abstract templates from our website, submit and register by Thursday August 5.

In the lead up to ANZBC21 we will start with a public webinar next week Biomass crops for biochar which should be extremely informative followed by a weekly podcast series Biochar in the Carbon Drawdown Decade starting on Thursday August 12 to September 30.

Finally, a special congratulations to Frontier Impact Group on the announcement of a green diesel joint venture with Carnarvon Petroleum Group south of Perth. I am advised that the project aims to convert 100K tonne of biomass per annum into 19 million litres of green diesel, 5.5 million litres of wood vinegar and 8K of biochar with a percentage being further processed into bio-graphene. This type of project is everything ANZBIG has been advocating for, for a long time. That is, mining renewable new carbon instead of the finite and problematic old.

Please enjoy this month's drawdown.

Best Chars,
Don Coyne
