CEO MESSAGE
Dear Members,
COP26 started yesterday so please send your suggestions through on how we can reach out to key decision makers with a publicity stunt or other important points for biochar. The IBI will be sending a delegation so we can get messages through to the team. I think a mascot cow and dung beetle eating biochar could be one of the best messages to get across and go viral? This method is still one of the most effective ways for farmers to get paid to reduce methane, nitrous oxide and sink a lot of biochar at depth into our soils in my opinion.
We ensure you have found our 5th ANZ Biochar Conference [ANZBC21] valuable over the last month albeit online. We have had some great feedback to date on the quality of our programme and the information shared. Thank you again to our diamond collective sponsors for making it possible. Recordings for paid delegates only this year are being released progressively and we will produce a proceedings document as a permanent record for all stakeholders by close of 2021 or early 2022. If you haven't purchased a ticket yet, it's not too late to attend the remaining three weeks which includes this Wednesday's Drawdown Markets, next week's Biosphere Standards followed by Open Forums on the final version launch of of our Code of Practice and strategic next steps for the industry of which we will ask you to participate. You can register and apply your membership coupon code (listed at bottom of the page) at checkout here. We continue to meet and plan for a potential live event in 2022.
Finally, to finish off another great year for biochar, our annual AGM is scheduled online for Wednesday December 8 from 3-4pm AEDT followed by drinks at a live venue in your state. Please register on this Join URL if you would like to attend and contribute to the ongoing functioning and growth of ANZBIG so we remain relevant and impactful. Live venues announced so far are Catalyst Systems, Hunter St Newcastle, N.S.W. and Earth Systems, Hawthorn Melbourne. If you would like to host drinks in your state please get in touch.
Please enjoy this months Drawdown Edition and welcome all renewed and new members.
Best Chars,
Don Coyne
