School Term Dates for 2022 – 2023 Academic Year
Dear Park View Community,

It has been a real privilege to remain the headteacher of Park View School during this 2021/22 academic year. Whilst there have been some significant challenges to overcome (not least returning from Covid lockdowns) I have never been more proud of the resilience and positivity that has been shown by all our pupils, families and staff.
I would like to thank all the staff who are leaving us at the end of this year for their amazing work and welcome all our fantastic new teachers and support staff who we have recruited ready for September.
Whilst there remain some very real difficulties to overcome next year, not least the rapidly increasing strain on school budgets due to real terms funding cuts in education, and the national recruitment crisis in teachers and school support staff, I am confident that as a school community we will continue to move from strength to strength.
Please do stay safe during the summer break and we look forward to welcoming our new Y7 cohort on Monday 5th September at 8.20am, with the rest of our pupils joining us at 8.20am on Tuesday 6th September.

Jacky Wright, Microsoft's Digital Officer, visits PV

This term we were incredibly honoured to welcome Jacky Wright, Chief Digital Officer and Corporate Vice President at Microsoft US. She inspired our students by sharing her career experiences, what led her to success, and her own childhood growing up in Tottenham.

The day ended with an engaging Q&A session with our computer science students, during which students were able to ask specific questions about opportunities and careers in technology, as well as gain a personal insight into the challenges Jacky faces in her career and how she overcomes them.

Cultural Diversity Day!
Our Cultural Diversity Day was a huge success, with many students and staff dressing up and displaying the richness of our school's diversity.

Students took part in a range of engaging lessons learning about different cultures and traditions in other countries, as well as celebrating the diversity in our community and learning from each other. As part of the day's activities, students also had the opportunity to experience Haringey Learning Partnership's amazing Windrush art installation.
Summer Question Time
As a direct result of students requesting opportunities to better understand decisions taken by our school leaders. Year 9 and 10 student council led our first PV Summer Question Time, where students had the opportunity to ask the leaders of the school questions. This is a new initiative that will be implemented each term to help improve communication between our leaders and students.
Summer Showcase
On Thursday 7th July, Park View’s Performing Arts department hosted the Summer Showcase. It was an uplifting evening filled with outstanding performances in a range of styles and ensembles.

The Year 8 band kicked off the concert with David Bowie's “Heroes”, followed by band performances from each year group. The string group performed an extract from the Pirates of the Caribbean soundtrack, and the Park View Collective performed their collaborative composition, which was a highlight of the evening.

The showcase also featured some smaller ensembles and solo performances from Suraya and Eden in Year 10, as well as Vaishali and Hunter in Years 9 and 8. Drama performances were similarly wide-ranging in style.

The Year 7 drama club entertained the audience with their Commedia dell'arte scenes, and we had two exciting previews of the school's upcoming Peter Pan production (not to be missed!).

We closed the evening with a performance of “We Are” by Jon Batiste, which featured every performer from the concert, with over 50 students on stage singing and playing together, in what is quickly becoming a Park View concert tradition. Diego, Sophonias, and Kyle hosted the showcase flawlessly, even breaking up the evening with a magic trick!
Sports Day
After two years, we were thrilled to finally host Sports Day, our annual sports highlight! Maple, Oak, Elm, and Cedar all competed for the title of 2022 Sports Day House Champions at New River Sports Centre.

Students from Years 7 to 10 competed in a variety of track and field events, as well as team events such as tug of war and invasion ball.

The competition remained strong throughout the day, with some outstanding performances!

Elm deserves a huge congratulations for winning Sports Day 2022 for the first time ever. We're excited to see if they can defend their title at next year's event.

Overall Sports Day Positions:

1st - Elm
2nd - Cedar
3rd - Oak
4th - Maple
ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Exams for Parents/Carers
Congratulations to our ESOL class for parents/carers who sat their ESOL exam this year after finishing the Entry 2 Level with a 100% pass rate!

Thank you to our ESOL teachers, Ms Petrova (Entry 2 Level) and Ms Hassan (Entry 1 Level), who teach the lessons every Wednesday evening from 17.20pm – 18.50pm. The level of engagement and progress has been fantastic – both classes have increased over the last few months as their popularity has grown among our parents/carers.

If you are a parent/carer and would like to sign up for these free weekly classes at Park View, please contact the EMA department at
