May this wee note find you and your family filled with Joy at the coming of the Lord, Jesus!
It's a starry Christmas night here in Glasgow and Roddy and I finally had time today to take a much needed rest, although he is cooking dinner as I type. While the struggles of this year could be called monumental & we are grieving the loss of loved ones, we count our blessings to be past the worst of covid. Only fatigue & the sense of smell & taste still come & go.
The work load at Royal Mail was overwhelming at times, but with your prayers and God's grace, these old bones made it through 12 hour days with joy, making new friends & planting Gospel seeds along the way! Puppies & kitties also made long days sweet when they'd snuggle up for a pat & a treat!
Our dear brothers & their families in Kenya are well, but this year they have endured fires, snake & scorpion bites & loss of family members. Roddy continues teaching & encouraging them as they take the Gospel to their local fellowships & areas yet to be reached! While these journeys are perilous & wrought with persecution, God continues to miraculously make a way in the wilderness for His Word to be proclaimed.
For their protection, we hope you'll understand it would be unwise to share photos.
Here in Scotland, after nearly 2 years of online gatherings, Roddy is preparing to open the building in Barrhead for worship & outreach. The structure dates back to D.L. Moody's church planting days, so we feel honored to be a part of the ongoing mission. Unfortunately, due to roof leaks & neglect, there are many needed repairs & cleaning to be done, so we value your prayers in seeing these doors once again open to welcome the broken & needy seeking the Light of Christ!
On a music note...
"Praise You, Lord of All"
is in post production & if all goes well, release date should be mid January.
William Ridley and the Celtic Cross is hovering in final edit mode...so if I may ask for your prayers, it would be to use this short time off work to complete the edits & for clarity on a literary agent, or not. Thanks so much for your faithful prayers & encouragement.
Speaking of encouragement,if you're not familiar with the Christmas story, here's what Luke & others recorded during the happenings of their time...and why Jesus offers the hope of all hopes to all mankind.
May the great love of Christ fill you to overflowing...today & every day to come!
Merry, Beautiful, Blessed Christmas with love,
Connie & Roddy
And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear.
And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying,
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”
Luke 2:8-14
And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child.
And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them. But Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.
