It was May 2001, I was sitting in the window seat at a BnB in Lochyside watching a storm brewing over Ben Nevis. After spending two glorious weeks exploring my ancestral homeland, which felt more like home than anyplace I'd ever been on earth, my heart was heavy, for I had to return to the USA the next morning. As the rain began tapping on the window, I picked up my guitar and within the hour, Every Time it Rains flowed out like the waterfalls in the glen. While it may sound like a love song to a person, it truly echos my yearning for home, where my heart resides, in the highlands of Scotland.
