The Fall League Season is Underway!

Dear Old Line FC Families –

The temperatures are (finally) cooling and our fall league season is underway.  It is great to have a chance to see some of the other Old Line FC teams play now that we have home games.  As a club, we are so proud of the teams for their level of play, effort, and sportsmanship.  These are core values at Old Line FC and seeing our members embrace them is rewarding.

And while it is fun to celebrate our successes and accomplishments as a club, it is also important to recognize why Old Line FC has been so successful in just our second year.  Old Line FC is very fortunate to have an AMAZING group of coaches.  Their dedication to the players, this club, and the game of soccer is second to none.  We would like to personally thank all of our coaches for their sacrifices and for their relentless energy to develop our players.  We appreciate all that you do!

Lastly, I wanted to remind all of our club members to please do your best to participate in the different club fundraising opportunities being offered by Old Line FC.  As a 501c3 nonprofit organization, Old Line FC relies on club fundraisers to help us offer you a genuine soccer club experience while limiting your costs.  Fundraising proceeds from events like “OLFC Wendy’s Nights” and the OLFC Golf Outing go directly to the club for field maintenance, rentals, and lights as well as advertising and other administrative expenses the club incurs.  We truly appreciate your participation and support and look forward to seeing you at upcoming events!

Thank you again and best of luck to all of our teams this fall!

Sincerely,
Jessica Patino

Meet the Coach: Chris Patino

My name is Chris Patino and I am the Director of Coaching, Girls at Old Line FC.  I am also a head coach for the Old Line FC Red Devils U12G and an assistant coach for the Old Line FC Pride U10G.  I am originally from Wayne, NJ and I played club soccer there for 12 years.  During my time as a player, I earned all-conference honors as a HS sophomore and all-county & all-state honors as a HS junior and HS senior.  I had the incredible experience to play internationally in Hungary during my senior year of high school as well.  I played my college soccer at University of Albany where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Communications.

I have had the pleasure of coaching and playing soccer for over 30 years.  In 2013, I earned my NSCAA Level 6 Diploma.  In 2015, I continued my soccer coaching education and earned my NSCAA National Coaching License.  I continue to play in a men’s league in Bel Air, MD and if I am not coaching or playing soccer, I am watching it.  My favorite teams are Real Madrid and Liverpool.  If you learn anything about me in this write up, it’s that I LOVE this game.

I am the father of two incredible young ladies who play more sports than I want them to…soccer, lacrosse, basketball, and ice hockey.  I am also married to an amazingly supportive woman for 16 years this October.  I currently work for a great company called CPower Corporation in Baltimore, MD where I have been employed for over 10 years.

Coaches Corner:

Helping Parents and Players Enjoy Their Seasons

At Old Line FC, we strive to establish a club culture focused on player development.  Winning is fun and an important outcome of the team’s hard work, but we firmly believe that developing our children into strong individual soccer players is priority #1.

An individual player’s development is impacted by three main influences: friends/teammates, coaches, and parents.  Our coaches do a tremendous job of aligning the first two influences, but the third influence is where we need your help.  We feel it is important to offer useful tips to help our parents align with our club philosophy and ensure a 360-degree approach to influencing individual player development.

The title of the article is a bit accusatory, so we want to apologize in advance.  No one is making mistakes!  We truly believe we have the most supportive and dedicated parents at our club.  However, the advice offered in the article aligns very well with the atmosphere we hope to create each and every year at Old Line FC.
