Fallible Ideas Newsletter

Philosophy and rational analysis. By Elliot Temple.

Update

I’m teaching a Critical Fallibilism course this month. It’s going well. The main topic is Yes or No Philosophy including decisive, binary criticism, IGCs and breakpoints. I’m also connecting these ideas with Theory Of Constraints and Critical Rationalism. Expect course recordings to go on sale in March.

Discussion at curi.us is active. The best way to follow it is with an RSS Reader.

Discussion on Discord is active too and includes election discussion.

Highlight Videos

I’ve hired Justin Mallone to create highlight videos from my philosophy live streams. He’s reducing the length by around 75% compared to the original videos. It’s just the best parts that are most worthy of your time.

Watch the first four:

Feedback on what’s worth including in the highlight videos would be appreciated. What did you particularly like? Did you notice any parts you thought should have been left out? (For any newsletter, you can hit reply and I’ll get your email.)

Election Fraud

I've been reading about election fraud. Some highlights:

curi.us thread (contains many links with excerpts).

Twitter thread: My thoughts on the Revolver news story on Montgomery County PA.

Twitter thread: I have updated significantly in favor of large-scale #fraud deciding the US election.

Social Science Research Network: Why Do Most Countries Ban Mail-In Ballots?: They Have Seen Massive Vote Fraud Problems

The Atlantic (2013): 'Walking-Around Money': How Machine Politics Works in America Today

American Mind: Game-On for the Coup?

BBC News (2016): Vote rigging: How to spot the tell-tale signs

One Tweet: Here’s how @StateDept explained Ukraine electoral fraud

And I’ve gotten these books, but I haven’t read them yet:

Book: Five Dollars and a Pork Chop Sandwich: Vote Buying and the Corruption of Democracy is about US voter fraud examples including how a vote fraud director in Louisiana was unable to clean up problems.

Book: The Fighting Bunch: The Battle of Athens and How World War II Veterans Won the Only Successful Armed Rebellion Since the Revolution is about returning WWII vets battling voter fraud in Tennessee.
