Membership Registration / Social Mornings
We will continue membership registration and social coffee/tea, weather permitting, at the picnic shelter in the Parksville Community park almost every Friday morning – 9:30 to 11:30 am.
Upcoming dates are August 26th and September 2. Check the calendar for updates, as the table will be moving to the Oceanside Place Arena this fall.
Friday slo-pitch players are welcome to drop by and have a coffee.
PGOSA membership is available as well as a knowledgeable person regarding our activities and events, so if you have questions regarding participation drop by and chat with the representative – they will point you in the direction you need to go to get involved.
See you for coffee on Fridays!
Curling at Parksville Curling Rink
Curling on PGOSA COED recreational teams will continue this fall, starting on Thursday, October 6 from 11:15 to 1:15 pm.
Any new participants need to register by contacting the league coordinator, Jim Powell, at 250-248-8341 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition to expressing your interest in playing in the PGOSA league, state your experience – new or beginner, intermediate, or experienced – and the position you would like to play. Teams are formed by the league. We do try to create balanced teams by playing ability and male/female members. You can request to play with a spouse or partner.
Beginners will be requested to attend lessons on the previous two Thursdays, September 22 and 29, so the sport can be introduced to you in a safe and supportive manner. Previous experience is not needed, but a moderate level of athleticism is necessary as sweeping and rock delivery takes effort and basic coordination.
Those PGOSA members who have played the last couple of seasons will receive a separate email from Jim confirming intentions for this season. This will arrive in the next few days, so keep checking your email account.
Looking forward to another enjoyable season and lots of exercise sweeping those rocks!
