Your Board of Directors held a lengthy meeting this morning (masked, distanced and a work group of 8 in a large hall) and spent time on an Operational Review. More on that will be forthcoming in a future edition of The Chronicle. For today though, there are more pressing matters for us to address.
Dr. Bonnie Henry held a press conference yesterday, November 19th, and advised the following regarding Sports and Athletic Activities:
"Indoor and outdoor sports can continue but there can be no spectators and no travel outside of local areas."

The Board has been following the Province's guidance since the State of Emergency began.
Therefore, provided your Activity STRICTLY follows the COVID Safety Plan your Activity Managers submitted prior to re-starting their Activity this summer, the Board will follow Dr. Henry's mandate and allow our Activities to continue.....NOTE- this continuance may be rescinded without notice if Dr. Henry requires it.
Activity Managers - Please review your Safety plan and ensure all your group members are informed / reminded as to your Safety Plan.
You are empowered to dismiss from your Activity any member that willfully endangers other members health by not complying with the Province's Rules and your express COVID Safety Plan.
That member should then be reported to the Board for any required follow-up.
Masks, sanitizer and distancing are key issues for EVERY Safety Plan.
SMALL groupings are required with distancing observed.
There can be no travel to other areas for competitions etc.
There may be NO spectators at your events.
A new requirement for your Safety Plan issued by ViaSport BC: "should any participant require medical attention, that person must be masked and the attendants must also be masked." Please ADD this stipulation to your existing Safety Plan.
Dr. Henry's most recent mandate runs to December 7th, 2020 but may be changed based on conditions in the Province.
So, for now, NO PGOSA Sports Activity is REQUIRED to shut down. Your Activity Manager is empowered to refuse to allow your participation should you intentionally put others at risk by refusing to observe the above Provincial requirements and the Safety Plan for your Activity.
Lastly, the PHO mandates are enforceable Bylaws and violations carry a $2000.00 fine for the Organizer and a $200.00 fine for each participant in a non-compliant activity.
Should you be ticketed for violating the PHO mandate, you are on your own.
We will advise you if / when any further changes are issued from the Province. So, let's be active but vigilant and respectful of your fellow members health and safety.
