March 2019 Newsletter
Early bird registration for WoodBUILD 2019 now open

Dear <<First Name>>,

This year at WoodBUILD 2019  we will be exploring how Wales can become a high-value forest nation. Speakers from Ireland and Norway will bring an international perspective to the discussions, which will have a particular focus on the needs of the social housing sector. The conference will explore how new technologies and new political imperatives are making reforesting Wales and building with wood increasingly compelling. Early bird and member discount available so please Book Now.

We are currently running a series of ‘Insulating with Wood events this year in association with the Natural Fibre Insulation Group in Bangor and Swansea. Insulation accounts for 50% of the volume of building fabric and therefore profoundly influences multiple aspects of building performance. A better understanding of this multi-functionality makes wood fibre insulation a more compelling choice.

We were delighted that the recently released report by the Committee on Climate Change on housing has recommended the implementation of policies to support the increased use of timber in construction and the development of whole life carbon approaches. We're undertaking whole life carbon assessment of buildings as part of the Home-Grown Homes Project. Please contact us if you'd like to get involved.

Finally, I would like to welcome two new members to our alliance Linc-Cymru Housing Association and First Choice Housing Association. We look forward to working with you.
