Meet current Sherman Center co-ops and co-creators of SOAR, the first protein powder vending machine! 💪

Hanna Elzaridi Third-year Business major (Entrepreneurship, International Business, & Health Management), Nutrition minor

Chloe Welch Third-year Business & Economics major (Finance & Entrepreneurship)

"As freshman roommates, we were frustrated with the protein powder options available, considering we always had two giant tubs of protein powder which was costly, inconvenient for our tiny dorms, and left us feeling guilty about the plastic waste.

In 2021, we started brainstorming ways to improve the industry, and after hundreds of hours on Zoom, the concept of SOAR Vending was born.

This last semester we bought an old candy vending machine, which we are continuing to modify, with plans to launch our first machine in Marino Center very soon.

Our goal for this co-op is to have a fully functioning machine that the Northeastern community can benefit from and to begin collecting customer feedback and data to best determine our expansion plan."
