Last week, I had an opportunity to attend the opening reception of Carla Fernandez Casa de Moda, A Mexican Fashion Manifesto in the Denver Art Museum. I was amazed by this fashion house's philosophy such as slow and ethical fashion, keeping traditional crafts and folk art alive, and being a voice for social issues. If you live near Denver, Colorado, this exhibit is worth visiting! Also, Denver Art Museum is a great place to explore. I spent two and a half days there and I still haven't seen everything.
I had a great time again teaching my school children. As you can see, I am a proud teacher who wants to share their work with you. These are 8th graders' saeksilnubi work after 4 weeks of the lessons.
Last month, I was able to manage some time with my indigo vat. I also had a great time to eco print using onion skin, marigold flowers, cochineal, eucalyptus leaves, and lavender. As the weather gets warmer, I will be spending more time in my backyard tending my precious indigo plants.
