We need your help to make a difference in New York.

We are looking for Charter Members to help us start this important organization! 

Mission Statement

Living Architecture New York (LANY) is a group of dedicated citizens advocating and educating for policies, incentives, and direct investment to dramatically accelerate the implementation and maintenance of green walls + green roofs in the New York Metro area. These living architecture technologies support multiple economic, environmental, and human health benefits.

LANY Goals

  • Advocate for public and private education about Living Architecture (green walls + green roofs)
  • Foster collaboration among citizens and organizations interested in advancing green space and living architecture
  • Influence policy to mandate green space in new construction
  • Influence policy to encourage green wall + green roof construction
  • Work towards simpler, more expeditious, positive permitting in local government regarding green walls + green roofs
  • Provide networking and mutual learning opportunities among green wall + green roof professionals and allied professionals
  • Expose members and public to experts in green wall + green roof industry through educational events
  • Work with GRHC to develop and deliver training and advocacy in NYC Metro region

About LANY

LANY Founding Members are concerned citizens seeking seed funding from Charter Members to create infrastructure to meet our goals of improving and protecting the environment of NYC through the use of Living Architecture Technology.

In addition to enlisting Charter Member support, LANY welcomes and is seeking to engage volunteers to join in supporting the organization to meet its goals to make NYC a healthier and cleaner place to live for all its inhabitants.

Timing is critical, as New York City policymakers are poised and ready to make positive changes to improve the lives of their constituents through meaningful legislation to encourage green walls + green roofs. LANY will be a valuable and reliable ally and resource of information for these policymakers to make the best decisions and policies to improve the environment and health of the urban landscape.

Charter Members will be honored at a Launch Event on March 15, 2017 to kickoff LANY’s introduction to the NYC Metro area community.

About Green Walls

A green wall is either free-standing or part of a building that is partially or completely covered with vegetation and, in some cases, soil or an inorganic growing medium. They are referred to as living walls, green façades, bio-walls, or vertical gardens.

About Green Roofs
