2018 Sponsor Partners

We are excited to welcome McDonalds as our 2018 Naming Rights Sponsor. This partnership ensures the category have continued resources to enable a great racing season ahead! We are excited to partner with them in our promotions and to strengthen our place in the West Australian Car community further.

Further to our relationship with McDonalds we will be carrying out fundraising throughout the 2018 season to support the Ronald McDonald House Charities. This is a more than worthy cause that we can give something back to from within our racing community.

If you have any fundraising ideas for race days or an event in between, or would like to make a donation please contact Kelly at

(From WASCC)
WASCC received advice from CAMS that it could not continue with a system of pre-season inspections if it was going to mandate these within regulations. This was promulgated through the Competition and Events Committee.

WASCC circuit racing events always have and will continue to use the CAMS Audit system, where your car receives a CAMS Audit every 4 meetings or once every 12 months.

The WASCC Mandatory Pre Season Inspection was a separate system on top of the CAMS Audit.
This year CAMS head office has instructed WASCC to drop our Mandatory Pre Season Inspection for 2 main reasons.

Firstly’ that a mandatory club inspection outside of the CAMS Audit is in conflict of NCRs for CAMS race meetings. Secondly, as WASCC ran its own inspection system, we may have been liable should something happen to a competitor due to a mechanical problem that our system could/should have picked up.

Please Find a CAMS Audit Check sheet HERE. It’s really good check sheet to ensure your car is in top safe working order. This is the same audit sheet the CAMS Scrutineers use to check your car at race meetings.

Every Class should nominate an Eligibility officer, who should hold a scrutineer licence, and assist with the Scrutineers at race meetings.

Race Category Structure for 2018

Following on from the CDC meeting held at CAMS on 23rd August we would like to announce the following.

The “WAGT” name used in reference to the combined grids of Street Cars and Sports Sedans and Sports Cars will be disbanded for the 2018 season.

We will still run in the same races, however Street Cars will have a separate grid from the Sports Sedans and Sports Cars as per the Torque Trophy Event in July was run. As to starting order for the classes this is to be confirmed.

We will be collecting car and driver profiles to collate and give to the commentary team to ensure the Street Cars Category can continue to grow and shared within the motorsport community.

Please send your car specs and driver info along with an image to

A-Frames for Race Garages

We have secured an awesome deal with Word Of Mouth Signs to produce
A-frame signs at a special member price. These signs will be the metal
A-frame with a replaceable corflute sign of your cars specifications and driver information.

These will be at a member cost of $55.00 which has been subsidised by the association as well.

We would like to endeavour to keep these signs universal to the category with our logos etc on them, so if you are interested in ordering please contact your category Representative Craig to organise the graphic design for the order.

We encourage all members to have one of these signs in order to promote our cars at the garages and draw attention to the builds, whilst further promoting the category.
