STUDENT INITIATIVE: FIRST PERSON MAGAZINE

First Person Magazine offers you a view on the news as you have never seen it before. When students founded the publication last month, their aim was to utilize the lived experience of Pearson College UWC students to reclaim the headlines and combat mainstream media narratives. It is the news from the first person perspective, something missing from much of the discourse today. Above this, students embark on a fearless expedition to explore the headlines with the curiosity, wit, and intelligence they demand.

Last month the publication featured the theme of "First Contact" exploring topics from time travel to the myth and dangers of positive stereotypes. This month, they are diving into the theme: "But it didn't...", an exploration of sharp turns of events in our society, for better or for worse. Expect to learn more about the British history curriculum, the growing anti-vaccination movement in Canada, and the recent conflict between Pakistan and India. First Person Magazine publishes monthly at firstpersonmagazine.com.
