Summertime and Live Music is Back!

Summertime is here, and this year, we have extra reason to celebrate the glorious season that’s known for good times, fun in the sun and the pure, easy enjoyment of everyday living…Live Music is Back! Woohoo! 🎶

As live performances are returning to all kinds of indoor and outdoor venues—from local bars and restaurants to the clubs, performing arts halls, house concerts, parks and amphitheaters, we are thrilled that the sounds of musicians playing live, in front of crowds of people, will be filling the sweet summer air and our hearts once again.

We encourage you to go out and enjoy hearing your favorite musicians as well as enjoying bands and artists playing in your community who may be new to you. Now’s a perfect time to go out and support live music, and help musicians make a comeback after a very long and difficult disruption caused by the pandemic.

Make your own music with the harmonica!

And speaking of music…in addition to supporting live music again, why not take some time to make music of your own this summer?! Whether you’re planning vacays or stay-cays, give yourself the gift of making your own music.

If you’re new to playing the harmonica, note that it’s simple and fun to learn to play. Thanks to the different models of Lee Oskar Harmonicas with standard and altered tunings, it’s easy to play many different musical genres and styles. Check out all the educational tools and resources that we offer on our LOH website to help you in your musical journey.

If you already play the harmonica, remember that this wonderful little instrument is a perfect companion that can open up a world of musical possibilities—right in the palm of your hands! Explore how the harmonica can add variety and enhance your music.

For players of all levels, the harmonica is an amazing compositional tool—a delightful (and portable) way to make melodies and hook lines—fitting right into your pocket, purse or beach tote.

So wherever you may roam this summer…let the music play.

One Way Out with Melissa Etheridge Music Video Wows!

Check out this fantastic music video featuring award-winning singer-songwriter, guitarist, and activist Melissa Eldridge performing “One Way Out,” the title song from a new album that will be released in September. Her new album is a collection of material that was originally written in the ’80’s and ’90’s. Enjoy this powerful performance, which includes Melissa playing her Lee Oskar Harmonica with great feeling.

Now that rules for social distancing are easing and live music is back, we just had to share this amusing illustration that has been in Lee's collection for a long time, waiting for just the right moment. We think that after all our world has been through, now's the perfect opportunity to share: "Play louder? No problem, just stand closer!"
