As we have shared in previous newsletters, Argentina has been a very special place to us at Lee Oskar Harmonicas for many years. In addition to having an abundant amount of musical and creative artists who call Argentina home, the beautiful culture itself embraces a deep love for music and artistic expression in general. People are passionate about their music… and it shows through their love of making music and enjoying music fully.
Because the culture is so musically inclined, we consider this region to be an important model for spreading the love of harmonica. We are proud to support a Playing for Change Foundation School in Diamante, Argentina, where Lee Oskar Harmonicas Featured Artist and harmonica teacher Martin Chemes has been teaching harmonica workshops to the school children for the last few years, using the Lee Oskar harmonicas that were donated to help further their musical education. Martin is also the founder of the Annual International Harmonica Festival (Festival Internacional de Armónica de Rosario) in his hometown of Rosario, Argentina, where he and Lee have performed together on stage—even including the Diamante school children at last year’s program!
We are also delighted that there are many harmonica players living in Argentina who prefer Lee Oskar Harmonicas above any other instrument. Our Argentinian distributor, Breyer Hnos SA, has engaged with several exciting artists who choose Lee Oskar harmonicas for their musical performances.
This month, we’d like to highlight one artist, Ruben Vaneskeheian, also known as Ruben Vaneske, who recently shared a beautiful cover of the Lee Oskar original composition, “So Much In Love”. Check out this fantastic video and enjoy Ruben’s take on Lee’s beloved song:
Watch for news about other Lee Oskar Harmonicas Featured Artists, Preferred Players and this years upcoming 5th Annual International Harmonica Festival. Featuring Ruben, Lee Oskar and a special surprise guest. Stay tuned!
