Usually at the end of any typical year, we like to highlight our accomplishments in the world of Lee Oskar Harmonicas over the preceding 12 months. We always enjoy recapping performances, product news, exciting happenings with our Lee Oskar Harmonicas Featured Artists and now, sharing new music that has come out through Lee’s record label, Dreams We Share.

However, this year, it’s very different.

This has been a historic and difficult year for our society and for our world on many levels as people dealt with the pandemic’s effects on our lives, our families and our communities, coupled with a period of deepened anguish and outrage caused by unforgettable racial and human injustices that have occurred.

We often speak about the power of music as a healing force in a troubled world. It’s the universal language that can unify and help bring peace amid turmoil. Now, more than ever, this rings true. This year, we adapted to a changing world with livestream concerts instead of live-in-person shows, and more podcasts and Zooms than we’ve ever done before. If you would like to check out our news and activities over 2020, we invite you to read through past newsletters which are housed here.

As we reflect on the pains and challenges of this past year, we give thanks for the love and support of our entire Lee Oskar Harmonicas community around the world and to music lovers everywhere, who serve as a ray of light to bring warmth and illumination to our world. Together, let’s look forward to a brighter, safer, better, healthier and more harmonious 2021.

Harmonically yours,
Lee Oskar

David Rotundo’s Soaring Success Story:
So Much Trouble gets So Much Love!

We are thrilled to share that David Rotundo’s recently released album, “So Much Trouble” (Dreams We Share, 2020) is continuing to gain rave reviews and some mighty impressive stats on the charts, with 6 weeks in a row at #1 on the Roots Music Report chart in Canada, among other terrific rankings on important music charts.

We thank all the fans of indie labels, countless radio stations, fans of At the Crossroads blues radio show and various podcasts for their outpouring of love and support for David’s music and independent music in general.

The great reviews keep rolling in from various blues critics. Here’s a recent one from Gilles Blampain, of the Blues Again Review, who says:

“Songwriter who draws his inspiration from the world around him, David Rotundo sings about hard times but he does so to the sound of fast-paced music, full of energy and frenzy. Soul funky, jump blues, boogie, rock, swing, shuffle…The Canadian sings beautifully, plays the guitar and above all turns out to be a formidable harmonica player.”
